Of all the Emotions

Of all the emotions,
That i have so far felt.
There is none i have cherished with such passion,
yet hate with such vigor.
It brings such joy,
but soon after sorrow will take its place.
When i have this emotion,
I would never want it to leave.
But later, i wish i had never felt it.
Strange that such a highly rated emotion could bring so much pain, for all the happiness it creates..
Strange that such a simple emotion has inspired so many,
Been the point in which people would do anything for one another
When our primal instinct is to hate and destroy.
But alas the human mind is a thing that is hard t understand.
What is it that generates this feeling
Why do we feel it,
Why does it feel that we need it.
And why cant it be that i cant keep it.
